Commercial Blender Features & Reviews

commercial blender features & reviews - blenderHistory of the Blender

Commercial blender features have improved vastly over the last number of years. From the early days of Stephen J. Poplawski, a Polish American who owned the Stevens Electric Company. In those beginning times, 1919, he was experimenting and designing drink mixers. Poplawski was working under a contract with the Arnold Electric Company. Then in 1922 he patented the drink mixer. Then, the mixer was designed to make Horlicks malted milk shakes. In 1922, he patented the liquefier blender.

After this  Chester Beach, L. Hamilton, and Fred Osius produced the blender under the Hamilton Beach Company (now you see things shaping up…) in the 1930’s. Fred Waring got involved later…and the rest is history…

Commercial Blender vs. Regular Blender

So, why a commercial blender and not a regular blender? Bottom line, it depends on your lifestyle. This lifestyle answer, actually applies to so many things, and questions. Here, it is 100% the answer, though. First question is: how much will you use it? These two and three horsepower machines will last you forever, if you don’t use them too much, but will also last you a very long time, if you do use them everyday. The regular home-designed machines will not last nearly as long, with daily use. Another issue with the regular blender, is that many of them have an impossible time, crushing or dealing with ice.

What Are You Making/Blending…

The next consideration is: what are you planning to blend or make with a blender.  Are you planning on making milk-shakes, smoothies, crushed ice, or hot soup? Yes….that’s right…hot soup. The powerful commercial blenders (those with 2+ peak horsepower) can create enough friction within the reservoir (the blade contacting with whatever it’s blending up) to make the liquid boil…hence the soup. Having the extra powerful motor and the superior design of the blade, offers much more versatility, and choice of recipes.

Healthy Lifestyle

One of the biggest factors for the popularity of the commercial blending machines, is the healthy lifestyle revolution that has become so main-stream in the last 10 years. Previously, you would only see a five hundred dollar commercial machine in a bar, being used to make Strawberry Daiquiris (not the healthiest beverage…but very tasty!). Today is a whole other story. Many folks have them at home, and they’re used as much as some people use their toasters, or kettles.

Today, it’s mostly about health. Making detox potions, using superfoods, gluten free recipes, weight loss drinks and smoothies, and let’s not forget vegan recipes (just don’t know if I could go without a steak…even once every couple months would be manageable…..I think…). Yes, there are many reasons to have a serious commercial blender….with a heavy-duty, multiple horsepower motor…lol…sounds like dudes talking about their souped up cars. Heck, maybe you can do a blending race……..for pinks!

With all that being said, we’ve gone ahead and put together our top 5 commercial blender reviews, based on feedback from customers, and our own research. Hopefully, this steers you in the right direction. Enjoy…

Commercial Blender Features & Reviews

commercial blender features & reviews - Ninja Professional Blender & Nutri Ninja Cups (BL660)#5 – Ninja Professional Blender & Nutri Ninja Cups (BL660)

The Ninja Professional Blender BL660 is a high-quality blender, on the market today. The package comes with the base unit & motor, a 72-oz capacity container, and two professional Nutri Ninja cups with To-Go lids. In fact, the base unit contains a high-powered 1100 watt motor which gives it enough power to cater to a juice bar or cafe (it has enough power to do a variety of liquefying, but is not designed for heavy, constant use).

Hence, it is more than powerful enough for a home user. That’s why you should include the Ninja BL660 in your decision process . While the motor is not as high a wattage motor as some of the others, it still does an excellent job. Just check out the reviews from buyers, on the Amazon site.

The six-blade system and powerful motor of the blender ensure a super-fast blending. Most users have confirmed that various ingredients such as vegetables and fruits could be done in a matter of a few seconds. On the other hand, the product uses the “total crushing technology” to crush ice and frozen fruits in seconds. That’s why the Ninja BL660 offers very good results for all your blending requirements.

The blender is made from BPA-free materials and is dishwasher safe. This is a lower priced machine, that still offers a fair bit of performance. Remember, you get what you pay for, and due to the lower price, the quality is not up to the same level as the other machines.  However, if you’re on a budget, then this Ninja Professional Blender BL660, would be a fair choice, and will last decently well, provided you’re not using it heavily.

commercial blender features & reviews - Breville BBL910XL Boss Easy to Use Superblender, Silver#4 – Breville BBL910XL Boss Easy to Use Superblender, Silver

The Breville BBL910XL Boss Easy to Use Superblender is truly that. It is a superblender. The secret with this machine, is the unique blade design and bowl system. In fact, there are 3 high velocity, stainless steel blades.

The bottom of the bowl is rounded, and the blades are contoured to this roundness. This means a truly powerful cutting system, (lumps can’t hide) which creates smoother particles for a greater velvety texture in your smoothies and shakes. The 2 peak horsepower motor makes jobs pretty easy, especially when married to that crazy 3-blade system.

There are numerous manual speeds for greater control over your creations. Having said that there are also 5 pre-set programs…just one touch, and your off and running. One of the pre-set programs that I’ll mention here, is the soup function. This function is fascinating, as it heats up the ingredients enough to create a soup. I love this feature of some of the superblenders.

Overall, this is a very easy machine to operate. One touch controls, coupled with a back-lit LCD display, makes for  superb ergonomics. Set and forget the BBL910XL, using the timer feature…very handy. Appreciate the dedicated cleaning mode…what more could you ask for. The BPA – free Tritan jug has a vented, and tight fitting lid (good for the soup feature). Breville has their own lid opening feature, called ring-assist. This is a clever idea, as it ensures easy-opening, in spite of a very tightly fit lid.

This machine is easily a contender, as far as features go. What held it back a bit, for us, is the 2 horsepower motor. In order to get to the number one or number two spots, the power has to be unrivaled.  This is still an awesome small appliance and if you pick one up, you’ll have years of good service out of it.

commercial blender features & reviews - Kitchenaid Pro-Line Series Blender in Onyx Black#3 – Kitchenaid Pro-Line Series Blender

The KitchenAid Pro-line Series Blender features a super powerful motor with 3.5 Horsepower (peak). Mated to an efficient design in the stainless steel blade, makes this a true commercial blending – liquefying phenomenon.

The eleven speeds means that there’s true versatility within this small, but mighty appliance. Included is the Metal base Container Patented Flex Edge Tamper, and a polycarbonate container that Measures 9.1″ Long x 10.5″ Wide x 17.7″ High, that is BPA free, with a capacity of 90 ounces. That is huge!

All the metal and plastic parts, easily wipe clean, and are dishwasher safe. Another testament to this mighty blender is the warranty, which is a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. Unfortunately, there aren’t a ton of reviews available on this Kitchenaid Blender, but all of the ones on the Amazon site, are 5-star reviews. Those that rated the Kitchenaid Pro-Line, raved about it. Seasoned blender-users, who have been using blenders daily for years and years, say it’s the best blender they’ve ever had. Need I say more…

commercial blender features & reviews - Cleanblend 3HP 1800-Watt Commercial Blender#2 – Cleanblend 3HP 1800 – Watt Commercial Blender

Cleanblend has designed the perfect blender on the market today. The Cleanblend 3HP 1800 – Watt Commercial Blender would help you through your journey to better health, and well-being over time.

This 3HP Cleanblend commercial blender can liquefy most fruits and vegetables so that you get the right amount of antioxidants, vitamins, and proteins – all this as one glass of delicious drink. In fact, you will not find another blender priced at the same level as the Cleanblend, when considering the numerous features offered by the product. This truly is excellent value.

Although most blenders use a plastic bearing on top of its plastic housing, the Cleanblend 3HP 1800 watt commercial blender has a high-quality stainless steel bearing and housing to provide more power and traction. The 64-oz BPA-free container is almost unbreakable and holds all the fruits and vegetables you can handle.

The Cleanblend 3HP 1800 watt commercial blender is easy to clean compared to most of the other blenders on the market. This product comes with a five-year warranty from the company. There are numerous positive reviews received by a majority of users who have purchased the blender. That is why buying this Cleanblend blender, would not be a bad thing, in spite of the fact that we rated this small appliance in the number two position, and not the number one position. So often, number one or number two could be easily interchanged….but alas…there is only one position for each rating…

commercial blender features & reviews - Waring (MX1000XTX) 64 oz Commercial Blender - Xtreme Hi-Power Series#1 – Waring (MX1000XTX) 64 oz Commercial Blender – Xtreme Hi-Power Series

The Waring (MX1000XTX) 64 oz Commercial Blender – Xtreme Hi-Power Series, is a high-quality blender that has a 3.5 HP heavy-duty motor. The blender can easily reach speeds up to 45,000 RPM with its powerful motor, giving you plenty of power for your money. In fact, the machine can complete just about any task in your kitchen or commercial establishment.

The blender is 20% quieter compared to most of the other blenders in its class. It consists of a one-piece dishwasher-safe, removable jar pad. The container is made of BPA-free copolyester material. The stainless steel blade and the design of the jar help deliver faster results when blending stuff. The majority of consumers have very positive things to say about this blender.

The blender has simple paddle switches which are easy to operate in dimly lit places, and it’s simple versatility makes it easily used in coffee shops, smoothie shops, bars, and restaurants. The product comes with one of the best warranties in the industry: Three years on the motor and two years on the parts and labor. This well-constructed, small kitchen appliance is available with a 64-ounce capacity.

The only thing to make sure of, is that you have a dedicated circuit (most modern kitchens do have split-receptacles, so should be okay…so don’t use your toaster while using this powerful blender, if it’s on the same electrical circuit), for the Waring (MX1000XTX) Commercial blender, as the motor is that powerful. I would say that’s a good problem. With this Waring, you know you’re getting your money’s worth.

The Final Analysis

In the end the Waring (MX1000XTX) wins out. This is truly a spectacular choice when looking for a commercial blender. The top 3 machines in our review are all capable of being number one, but the Waring has a whole lot of very satisfied customers…actually ecstatic customers. Very positive reviews, and at a price point that is not going to break the bank.

The Kitchenaid blender is truly a stellar machine, but the price is a fair bit higher, and therefore not as many people have purchased it…hence, a fraction of the reviews. It’s tough to make a decision on very little reviews. At this point one is deciding based on reputation, a few reviews, features, and finally the price.

For my money, I like to hear and/or read what people (who own what I’m trying to decide on buying) have to say about a certain product. We hope you enjoy this commercial blender features & reviews article, and that it helps you in making a wise buying decision. Cheers!
